(PHOTO) to the MEDIUM WOOD section of the web site.  Also a high quality, sturdy piece of driftwood(PHOTO) to the SMALL WOOD section of the site.  Finally, two pieces(PHOTO) of wood(PHOTO) were added to the LONG/FLAT WOOD section of the web site.

3/9/12
- One new piece was added to the
ART & FURNITURE section of the web site.  This table(PHOTO) was made by local Duck, N.C. artist Paul Aycock from over 100 year old cedar.  C'mon!

3/7/12
- Two new pieces were added to the
ART & FURNITURE section of the web site.  The James River Roots Table(PHOTO), which is amazing!  And, the "Beautiful & Bare(PHOTO)" Wine Rack, which is an awesome combination of 10 pieces of O.B.X. Driftwood attached to a Central Virginia Cedar.  Both pieces created by Richmond Virginia driftwood artist Mike Preusser.  Also, a couple of pieces of wood that were initially listed under the MEDIUM WOOD section of the web site have been moved to the LARGE WOOD section of the web site.

3/5/12
- Several pieces of wood that were initially listed under the
LARGE WOOD section of the web site have been moved to the EXTRA LARGE WOOD section of the web site.  Numbers for each of these pieces of wood have changed too.  These pieces were moved as dimensions are too large to be shipped U.S. Postal.  These pieces, when shipped, will go through a trucking company.  We felt like it would be a good idea to lump all the pieces that fell into this shipping category to be listed under the same section.

2/25/12

2012dwmed-0011

SMALL WOOD section of the web site.  The new pieces are 2012dwsml-0033 thru 0043.  Attention wedding coordinators:  For those of you that use these as centerpieces on tables at wedding receptions.  Remember, we can save you a bundle on shipping by stuffing them all in one box.

2/23/12 - The
ART & FURNITURE section has been added to the web site.  We will be adding more pieces to this section in the near future.  These pieces have been hand crafted by driftwood artist Mike Preusser.

2/9/12 - "Oh My!"  You would be the envy of your neighborhood with this nearly 7 footer
(PHOTO) as the landscape centerpiece in your front yard...  Or, maybe one of these over four foot long pieces(PHOTO)  (PHOTO).  Goto EXTRA LARGE WOOD for more details on these three new pieces of wood were added to the site today.  More wood coming soon!

2/8/12 - Three new pieces of wood were added to the Long/Flat Wood section.
2012dwlng-0010 - (PHOTO)  (PHOTO)  (PHOTO), 2012dwlng-0025 - (PHOTO)  (PHOTO)  (PHOTO)  (PHOTO), & 2012dwlng-0026 - (PHOTO)  (PHOTO)  (PHOTO)  (PHOTO).  Goto LONG/FLAT WOOD
for more details on these three pieces of wood.  These came from the marsh in Wanchese, N.C.  Wanchese is a commercial fishing village on the southern end of Roanoke Island.  The town of Manteo is on the northern end.

Thirteen
new small pieces of wood were added to site on 1/27.
Yesterday's jackpot of driftwood needs to dry out before taking photo's and adding them.  Also, for those of you that have purchased pieces of wood and turned them into something special.  Please e-mail us photos of the finished product.  We are planning to add a photo gallery of your work!  Thank you in advance.

1/26/12 - Sorry folks about the lack of updates.  Been real busy with the fishing business(www.beachbumfishing.com).  Fishing will slow down dramatically at the end of February.  The pieces of wood that are currently on the web site make up about 20% of what we have.  That would be before the jackpot
(PHOTO) of driftwood that was found today.  One minute you are in Wanchese waiting to get your truck inspected, the next thing you know you are in the marsh for an hour-and-a-half hauling driftwood.  Once the fishing slows down, the plan is to get all the pieces of wood onto the site.  It WILL happen.

1/11/12 - We are working on updating shipping & handling costs to the web site.  Initially shipping costs were based on FedEx/UPS Ground.  We have been getting the best pricing, shipping ground through the good-old U.S. Postal Service.  Shipping prices are hard to guestimate, but we are getting better every day.  We are trying to fine tune things at the moment and have started to lower Shipping & Handling Prices.  We are not in the shipping business and are not looking to make money shipping.  Once we have a zip code for a piece of wood, we put it in a box, take it to the U.S.P.S. & the FedEx/UPS store, and get pricing for ground, priority, and overnight.  We then contact you with the options.  Our cost is your cost on shipping.  So far we have been wrong on 90% of  the wood we have sold with our shipping guestimates.  With a couple of pieces, we under guestimated and took it on the chin.  Ouch.....  With the pieces of wood that have been sold where we over guestimated shipping(the majority), the savings were passed on to the customer.  That being said, odds are in your favor...

Twelve more pieces of wood were added to the Long/Flat Pieces section on 1/6.
Seven new pieces of wood were added to the Long/Flat Pieces section on 1/5.

Courtesy of Hurricane Irene, we currently have more driftwood in inventory(PHOTO) than ever before.  These are some of the prettiest pieces of wood that I have ever seen.  These are "Real Deal Holyfield" pieces of driftwood pulled from the waters of the Outer Banks of North Carolina, U.S.A!  Natural, unfinished, virgin, one-of-a-kind driftwood.  It is the best of the best.

All wood is cleaned/washed of debris.  We do not pressure wash our wood as it causes splintering.  If you are looking for pressure washed driftwood shipped overseas from Malaysia, this is not the site for you....

A lot(more than 50%) of our inventory
(PHOTO) has not yet been listed in the site.  We are working every day on adding every piece(hundreds) available.  Bear with us as we add them on.  It is going to take a while.  Please take a minute to browse through the site and come back again as every day we are adding on.  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Shipping is the toughest part of this business.  For the larger pieces of wood, there is no easy way to do it.  It is impossible to turn a profit in this business if we pay shipping.  We could double the price of the piece of wood to cover shipment like some sites do, or we can pass onto you our shipping costs.  Charging separate for each gives you the option of the much lower price for pick-up orders.  So, with that being taken into consideration, we pass our shipping onto the buyer.  Shipping for bulky heavy pieces can almost double the price you pay.  It is what it is...  We are always on the lookout for less expensive ways to ship and we are always open to suggestions.  We are located in Kill Devil Hill, North Carolina.  For those of you that vacation on the Outer Banks of North Carolina, we can hold purchased pieces of wood for pick-ups.  We do offer delivery service(by the truck & trailer load) for bulk purchases.  Shipping prices on web site are based on East Coast Shipping.  For those of you not located on the east coast, we can get your shipping cost a.s.a.p.

Payment:  Credit card orders are processed through Pay Pal(on-line store coming soon).  If you e-mail(catchem@beachbumfishing.com) the piece/pieces of wood that you want, we will send a Pay Pal invoice to your e-mail address that will easily prompt you through the Pay Pal payment method.  We accept checks(once it clears-wood ships).  Checks are to be made out and sent to:  Beach Bum Fishing/ 1816 Seminole Street/ Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina 27948.  Sales Tax applies on in state internet orders and retail pick-ups.  We can always be reached for any questions at (252) 449-0232.

Artists, Taxidermists, Landscapers, Wedding Coordinators, Pet Store Owners/Aquarium Dealers, are welcome!  Resellers feel free to contact us for special pricing.  Every piece of wood on this site can be custom made into almost anything by driftwood artist Mike Preusser.  Mike specializes in coffee tables, wine bottle & jewelry holders.
